Black TXII 2003

These modern taxis are a popular choice for executive travel, with tinted windows and carriage upgrades.
TX2-Taxi
Production of the TX series began in England in 1997 with the intention of replacing the iconic FX4. It was an immediate hit with the drivers, as they could enjoy more room in both the passenger and driver sections. Keeping with tradition, it maintains the rounded body-shape associated with the FX4 and includes sophisticated in-car entertainment. Passengers enjoy taller and wider doors, with a larger bench seat and improved comfort. If you visit London today, the TX series taxi cab is what you would hail. While newer models have recently been introduced on the streets of London, this vehicle represents the most modern British Taxi available in the USA. Book today to avoid disappointment.

British Taxi Confessions…

"When my husband and I were married, we had the pleasure of being magically whisked away from our reception in the back of the British Taxi. It had an open back so we could pop out and wave goodbye to our very impressed friends and family. What an amazing end to an amazing night! Do yourself a favor and hire the British Taxi for an experience you will never forget!"

Audra Hanusek

"You absolutely must take a ride in the British Taxi. My wife, friends, and I had the best night out we've had in forever...on a Wednesday...just riding around in the British Taxi and channeling our inner celebrities. The ride itself is an event -- you don't need an occasion to go have fun!"

Justin McCorcle

"Looking for an alternative that boring limo with the neon lights inside? Why not choose the charming British Taxi service for a unique ride with way more style than a standard car!"

Zach Hanner

"The British Taxis are a true gem for the Wilmington community. Whether you are a smitten passenger or using one for an event, these taxis will automatically elevate you above the rest. By providing you with a professional, fun, unique, and personable experience, a british taxi ride is unforgettable!"

Did you know…

The first black taxi in London was the hackney coach in the 17th Century. The name comes from hacquenée, the French term for a general-purpose horse. It literally means, 'horse for hire'. 'Hackney carriage' is still the official term used to describe The British Taxi.

When the drivers began using lighter cabriolets, two-wheeled vehicles from France, at the beginning of the 19th Century, they became known as 'cabs'. The name comes from the French for 'jump like a goat', as they were very light, and tended to bounce through the streets.

The original 'stage coaches' were certain hackney carriages whose drivers traveled in stages. They would drive short distances, along a fixed route, picking up fares at specific stopping points. As this part of the trade grew, they eventually became omnibuses, and then the bus transport system London has today.
